🟢 Superannuation Guarantee Rate Increase

Starting 1 July 2025, the superannuation guarantee rate will rise from 11.5% to 12%. This increase applies to all salary and wages paid to eligible employees on or after this date—even if the pay period began before 1 July. This marks the final step in the scheduled super rate increases.

💼 National Minimum Wage Adjustment
The National Minimum Wage will increase by 3.5%, bringing the new rate to $24.95 per hour or $948 per week. This applies from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July.

👶 Paid Parental Leave Super Contributions

The ATO will begin paying superannuation on government-funded Paid Parental Leave. This change supports long-term financial security for parents taking leave.

💸 ATO Interest Deductions No Longer Claimable

From 1 July, interest charges from the ATO (GIC and SIC) will no longer be tax-deductible if incurred on or after this date. This change could increase the cost of tax debts for small businesses.

⚡ Energy Bill Relief for Small Businesses
Eligible small businesses may receive up to $150 in electricity bill rebates, split into two $75 quarterly instalments. Rebates will be automatically applied to your bill.

📝 Fee Increases for Business Registrations
ASIC will increase fees for:

  • Business name registration: $45 for one year, $104 for three years.
  • Company registration: $611.
  • Annual review for proprietary companies: $329.
