From 1 July 2026, many professional service providers, including accountants, lawyers, conveyancers, real estate agents and trust and company service providers, will be required to complete additional customer checks before providing certain services.

These changes are designed to help protect customers, businesses and the wider community from financial crime.

For BDHL Advisory clients, this means we may need to request identification documents and ask some additional onboarding questions before we can proceed with certain services, including:

  • new company setups

  • trust setups

  • superannuation fund setups

  • share transfers

  • unit holding transfers

  • payroll services

  • director appointments

In some cases, we may also need to verify the identity of the people who own, control or act on behalf of a company, trust, super fund or other structure.

We know this adds an extra step, so we are working to make the process as simple and secure as possible. BDHL Advisory will be using easyAML to help clients complete identity verification online. No app download is required – you can complete the check using your smartphone browser.

You may be asked to:

  • verify your identity before the service can proceed

  • explain how the service will be used

  • confirm who owns or controls an account, company, trust or business

  • provide additional information where required

  • keep your details up to date

Any information you provide will be handled securely and used only for the purpose of meeting our legal obligations.
